10 months ago i ran into this guy and we hit it off,i was still bitter about catching my ex of a few years cheating(they r mutual friends)he listened and understood,he drove me home that night and i invited him to stay,i asked him to sleep in the bed with me,he did,i askedhim to put his arm around me,he did till i slept,he was such a gentlmna,thngs were awkward when he left the next morning,a mutual freind told me he liked me but was freaked about my ex(who was trying to get me back)I ran into him again 2 months later and he came to me and said"your killingme"my ex was also there and was freaking out that we liked eachother.I sent him a text a couple weeks later and he never replied.I saw him again 6 months later at a party,he walked in,saw me and looked away quick.Here i am 2 months after still thinkig about him,is this an unrealistic memory?

No, not unrealistic but maybe unwarranted. Some people have a very strong bond to moral issues. You stated he and your ex are "mutual" friends, How many "mutual" friends are involved if he does have to chose are you asking him to chose between you and your ex or are you asking him to chose between you and most of his social friends. Maybe he knew about your ex cheating and every time he sees you it upsets him. I think he likes you but unless you get him in a one on one, no pun, situation where you both can talk, you will never know. Did you tell your ex about the night he brought you home, if so that maybe the reason he is staying away. Confront him but if you only see him every couple of months then you may have to get your "mutual" friend to him to set this up.

I was in a situation like this and I ended up walking away and lost a lot social friends in the process. Plus now when I see her about once every two years we barely speak, it put a strain on everyone all the way around.
