We are currently fighting the same battle with our 2-year-old. Not only does he want to sleep with us....he fights sleep like I've never seen. What I have been doing is keeping his night-time routine pretty predictable. We get home from daycare..he has a snack...free play time until supper...He eats supper...then he bathes. Then we tell everyone good night and I go with him to his bed and read him a SHORT story. I will generally lay by him until he falls asleep. About two nights a week, he will wake up and come get in our bed...I hope he outgrows that.!! I hope this has helped. Good luck!!

Oh my gosh... we went through this same thing a couple of months ago... We said our prayers, laid in bed with him for a little bit, then would eventually sit on the floor and slowly make our way to the door... it sort of worked, but what really worked was just letting him decide he could sleep by himself. We talked about why he didn't want to sleep by himself (of course he was only 2). Letting him "cry it out" never worked - he was really stubborn!! We gave him a stuffed animal that could sleep w/him and that seemed to help... Good luck!!

Let him fall asleep in your bed...and when he's sound asleep...quietly transfer him into his own bed!!!!
