Do not do this unless you want to have black hair for a really long time and then when you go to lighten it again you have to use things like bleach to lift your hair color esp. since when you color your hair black it is a stain - yes you are actually staining your hair. I would opt for some black extensions that you can use as heavy streaks or a shadow (where just the underneath of your hair is black). Not worth the chance!

Jackyboy, I would not suggest using a semi-permanent black hair color on your light hair. It could turn green after a few washes, but I hate those wash-out colors. I've tried them and if you get caught out in the rain, your hair bleeds the color. They are a mess, especially black. Revlon does a permanent hair color that is only $2.97 at Walmart, (maybe a dollar or two more at drugstores), that is very gentle on your hair. It's good stuff. If you choose to use this, I would recommend getting "darkest brown". They have a color called "soft black", but warning, it's REALLY black. It is permanent, but it's gentle hair color. Why not try this if you absolutely have to have black hair? It may be fun keeping your hair like this for a month or so, then dye it back to the original color. If you don't want to be bothered with all this dye stuff, then just get a wig, or wear a really kick-*ss, mad cool hat.

Wow! Which gig r u going to? I was gna go to the Wembley one on the 30th but i aint now lol...
In "Boots" there are these spray can thingys which they have in different colours including black. You apply it on your hair (by spraying it on) , and when you feel you dont want it anymore, just wash it out and it all comes off in one wash- Just pray that it doesn't rain at the gig!

Have a good time!

I was originally very light brown, and I used a black wash in/ wash out dye, and my hair never went back to the same colour. so now its black permanently. My advice is don't do it your self. just go to the hairdressers.
