Can anyone inform me of towns or villages in the world with an old-fashioned feel? Places with a familiar charm, friendly people, more manual ways, a lifestyle that is reminiscent of times without the same technology we have today, kids playing outdoors, etc.

If you really want to see people who don't bide by the American capitalist culture, you should go check out the Amish in Lancaster Pennsylvania.

Well if you live in Australia like me there are many old fashioned towns here, Mainly Victoria. Im not sure about kids not playing outside but if you went to Ballarat, Victoria, Australia.. there is a place called Soverign Hill, check it out on the internet. It an olden day town with gold searching and stuff. Its really good.
