Catholics are Christians. And, if they (both of your parameters) are TRUE Christians, they do. Jesus the Christ DID say, "Nobody comes to the Father except through Me. Sounds to me like He wants us to accept Him as our Savior. YBIC

Most Christians, if not all follow Paul, not Jesus Christ the son of Mary (peace be upon him). Jesus (peace be upon him) said follow the 10 Commandments; Paul said dont have to do that. It's the laws of the Old Testament that most Christians no longer follow although Jesus (peace be upon him) has explicitly made it clear that the 10 Commandments must be observed. Jesus himself said:

"Do not think that I [Jesus] have come to abolish the Law (the Old Testament) or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish them but to fulfill them. I tell you the truth, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke or a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law (the Old Testament) until everything is accomplished. (Matthew 5:17-18)"

Christians always say as an excuse that an Old Testament law does not apply to them. According to Matthew 5:17-18, we clearly see that Jesus honored the Old Testament, and forced Christians to follow the unmodified laws of it that have not been replaced by newer ones in the New Testament.

God knows best

Uh... When did Paul ever say "Don't follow the commandments"? Paul never said that and Catholics don't believe that by believing Jesus was Christ then you are saved. The Devil knows Jesus is Christ but that isn't letting him into heaven. You should follow the commandments and not wearing something to cover your head isn't a sin. That would be pretty stupid if the perfect little angel of a person was denyed for not wearing something to cover their head or "Oh. I'm sorry you have to go to hell for eating meat."
We believe in Jesus and try to follow his teachers to the best of our abilities, and when we do do something wrong we confess it so it can be forgiven and try not to do it again.

Oh and also you don't have to say "christians and catholics" because Catholics are Christians.

Sorry. I'm not a Christian, so I don't know your religion well. But I think religion and faith should be something that guides us and gives us strength without winding us down.

And can you be sure that the Bible, the Khoran, the Buddha-Dharma or whatever teachings that exists today are the real wishes and teachings of our God(Buddha or Allah).
I think its all left for your heart to decide.

If you look at it loosely, I think you will find that most of the main religious teachings, again Bible, Khoran and ...., offer answers questions of our everyday life, like
1.) Hey, this babe is so sexy. But I already have a wife. What should I do? ..... Go with the babe :D jk jk
2.) Should I take advantage of my friend to get a promotion? ....
Let that sucker drowned himself in his pool of weakness. :D again jk jk

The thing is that you already know what to do. I mean you don't have to do everything a book said or what the teacher taught you. Just take the essense of it and let your heart decide.

On a side note though, I don't believe dress like this, do not eat this or that as a part of God's teaching or whatsoever.

Remember religion is our guide in life, not our Headmaster.

For Christians, Jesus fulfilled the Law of Moses.

Christians are not held to the ceremonial parts of the Mosaic Law concerning of dietary purity and temple worship.

Christians are held to the moral law of God, some of which is expressed in the Ten Commandments.

However Jesus took the Ten Commandments to the next step summarizing them into the two Great Commandments:
+ You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.
+ You shall love your neighbor as yourself.

And teaching things like
+ Everyone who looks at a woman with lust has already committed adultery with her in his heart.
+ Everyone is our neighbor including our enemies.

Therefore we have to go much farther than the original recipients of the Ten Commandments ever dreamed.

With love in Christ.

Not eating pork is not part of the ten commandments. Also, just by the fact that you have degraded anotherperson in your question by calling them pathetic, you aren't really acting truly Christian. And besides, what was said and followed in the first covenant was renovated and changed when Jesus formed the second covenant. Jesus also said to be humle and love your fellow brothers and sisters, and by calling them pathetic and being judgemental, you are basically refuting your own argument.

Friend, You have try so hard to dis-prove Christians & you stuck your own foot in your mouth. You say to show you what Jesus said, I can not show you everything, time will not allow, Turn to St John 3:1-7 You can read it, But there was a man name Nicodemus, & Jesus told that man except you be born again, he will not see the kingdom of Heaven & in St. Mark 11:7 Jesus says to follow him & he will make them fishers of men. Now concerning the woman covering, In the scriptures, It say that a woman covering is her hair, & not a veil over all her face. So don't try to trick the Christians with your islamic ideals, You have just met one that is not fooled & know the scriptures, after 37 yrs. of Serving God.

Yes God commands us to follow him, but he knows we are imperfect, so he sent his only son, to purify us, to pay for those sins that we undoubtedly live in.
Before Jesus we went to the alter and left a sacrifice, but the sin was still with us. God then sent his son as the ultimate sacrifice and now are sins are left at the alter, so that some day we may be with Our Father in Heaven.
The more you follow Christ, you find it easier to fully follow him and won't be as tempted to sin. We must try to be like him, but we will falter. There will always be temptation and undoubtedly even the Pope himself sins at times.
It is by Faith and God's grace alone that we will find our place in heaven.
If you question your faith or even your method, pray to Our Father and he will answer you, sometime it's just hard to listen and even worse, sometimes we don't like the answer.

May God keep you and hold you always.

you have to take all of scripture into account,John 3:15-18...everyone that believes in him (Jesus) will not perish but have eternal life. BUT You're correct in He also said if you love me you will obey ,,,He also said I have not come to abolish the Law but to fullfill it. We are to follow what God told us to do in the old testament law also. the feasts and festivals and the 10 commandments...indeed Most of the Christians and catholics do Not follow the teachings of Jesus,,,as He did all the things in the old testament (did not eat pork,do sinful acts,etc...he Did observe Hanukkah and all the feasts and festivals) So you're pretty much right ~ ps~what is PBUH stand for? :)

Jesus said this before He went to the Cross. The Cross is the difference. It is the Cross that matters because Jesus died on that cross for you and me. If Jesus had not gone to the cross we would still be under the law and dead in our sins. The Holy Spirit taught the disciples and Apostle Paul exactly what the cross meant.
