I just purchased a 2005 Tacoma, I am getting no radio recetion on the AM band. The previous owner had the radio pre-wired for XM satilte radio, could that be causing the AM to not work. I was under the impression that they work seperate. Any suggestions would be appriciated. thanks

OK sounds like your problem is in the xm modulator .some where there is a box that is tapped in to your antenna probably right behind the radio take the box out and hook the antenna straight to the radio.

I'm not familiar with the Tacoma but sounds like you lost the ground on the antenna.I work for a GM dealer and we have this problem often.Like I said not to good with Toys so I can only say this is a place to start . Not sure where the ground would be but pre owner may have use the ant. ground for the XM radio ground . Good luck hope I helped
