ok i was going to get a lower back tattoo of a bigger star closer to my bottom and have stars smaller than that wing up and out like angel wings, but now i found an awesome tattoo that i fell in love with like the lower back on it starts on my side by my pants line on the top of my hip bone and it goes up to about my boob and its flowers and unbloomed flowers on a vine and it goes up and towards the top it goes a little past my side to my back but not much what do you guys think? which would be cuter? i love them both but i want opinions from others too its for my 18th birthday present from my add and step mom and grandparents.

I think that you should get the one on your side. I saw the picture and it looks pretty awesome! I can't wait to see it when it is done, which ever one you pick. I am not sure what side. Either way it should look sweet! Good Luck!

Go with the one on the side. Not that there's a spot on the body that hasn't been tattooed but the lower back thing is being worn out! Hmm, which side... which side do you (if you sleep on your side at all) usually sleep on? Choose the other side for the tattoo... while it's healing... it's not going to feel so good sleeping on it, especially the first night or two.

Ever heard of Emla? You might want to consider finding out about it before the tattoo. It may help, especially around those very sensitive areas... like near a bone.

I LOVE the idea of the one with the Bigger star and the little ones that wing out. I think that would look awesome. Especially in the summer time when you'll be wearing a 2 piece swimsuit. It would be a softer looker tattoo as well. It depends really on your taste and style.. I think that would look much better than the second tattoo. In my opinion.

Girl... i have a Large fairy tattooed on my side... and I will tell you this... it hurt like the *i*ch... this being your first tattoo I would not start with the one on your side... because i know just how bad mine hurt. I did it all in one sitting but I wasn't sure I was going to make it through the shading... I would go with something that isn't in a place that hurts as much... and something smaller...

I know someone that was already to get a tattoo and the pain for them was so bad that now they have just a line down their back and that's it....

A side tattoo is the most painful according to my tattoo artist (ribs is the worst he said) I am having pink angel wings done on each shoulder blade as i think the back tattoo has become way too popular go in and have a chat with them and they can give you all the info you need

Definitley the side! It sounds really different to everything else out there, and it sounds really pretty. I think it will be a unique tat, get it! Tats on the back are so common, and star tattoos seem kind of emo-ish?

What a nice present from your family!

Do whatever you want, everyone in here will have a different opinion. Don't worry about what everyone else thinks and just go for it. Heck, get them both if you want. Whatever will make you happy.
But may I just say, tattoos on the ribs hurt more than any other one I have had. But it looks very cool. I really like it

I think the one on the side sounds really pretty. i don't really think that tattoos totally on the back are that cute, so the side one sounds cute. it is good that you are not getting a tattoo of a band or your "best friend" because we all know that the tattoo will not be good for us after a year or years.

hey they both sound really nice, i have been debating the exact same areas!!! my boyfriend is a tattoo artist and he wants me to get the one up the side of my body, he said its a lot sexier and more unique than the lower back. i was gonna get various flowers and ivry crawling up my side, or maybe entwined peacock feathers? i cant decide!! but i love the idea of the side tattoo. good luck!!!! if you need any advice id be happy to help!

the ribcage tattoo will hurt like crazy. it is definitely not something that i would get as my first tattoo. either of them sound like they will be beautiful IF the right artist does them. i guess it depends on how much you want to spend and how committed you are to the time that it will take. the ribcage tattoo sounds like it will take longer, 3-4 hours and will probably not be done in one sitting. it depends on how big the back tattoo is as to how long it will take. anyway, good luck!
