In most states as long as she is under age 18, you are her legal guardians, unless she has some mental disability, in which case, you are her legal guardian for life.

depends where you live i live in uk and its 16.by law a child of 16 can move out of the 'family home' and get there own place.the gaurdian has no legal authority to stop them.where as before 16 you can phone the police or social services.xx

I think its 16, I think this cos my friend was fostered and after the age of 16 her foster parents no longer received any state help for her. It was widely expected by social services etc that they would tuff her out and they would have give her a flat luckily for her she ahd the best foster parents ever and didnt move out till she was about 20

I too live in Uk and recently my Son's girlfriend came to live with us. We were classed as her legal guardians until she became 18!

It is most likely the age of majority or consent, which is 18 in most if not all states.
