Yes my cat rubs her head all over my legs and hands when she wants to be petted. But like the person said below me, Sometimes when they rub their faces against things, a scent comes off of them and it marks their territory.

Yes, he will circle my legs and feet. Sometimes to get attention and others just to mark me with his scent. He loves knocking my shoes upside down and smelling the soles when I come home from visiting someone with a pet. Then he will mark them with his scent by rubbing any available surface with his head.

yes, he will bump his head on my leg, and rub up against me when he wants some attention, or if he just wants to be loved on. He especially does this after taking one of his naps, or after I've been gone all day. they also do it to mark you and let other cats know that you are theirs. they have scent glands on the side of their heads behind the eyes.

Not totally, when they rub against your leg they release a sort of scent on you so that other animals know that you belong to them, or so I was told, I think I learned that on PBS...They also do it because they love you...

yes, but when a cat rubs against anything it is not because they are showing affection, but they are marking their territory so that other cats know what is theirs...

Yes, if you are standing that is the best way he know how.
If he could get to your face, he would be rubbing noses, pounding on your tummy.

They are rubbing their scent on you. You see them do this to things that don't have their scent on it. But they will also do it when they are bored or hungry.
