I have enjoyed drinking my tea white for years, until recently, when I heard that scientist have discovered that you do not get the antioxident and good for your heart health benefits that tea is promoted to contain once you add milk. The reason for this is because the protein from the milk blocks the antioxidants from doing it's good work.
I have been drinking my tea black for two days now and it has made me feels so sick five minutes after drinking it that it makes me retch quite violently, I either feel cold and shakey or hot and sweaty. Can someone please tell me if they experience this and what causes it.
Should I perservere with it? I don't want to drink my tea white if I'm not getting the same health benefits as drinking it black.
Thank you to anyone who can help.

It may be too much caffeine without the milk acting as a buffer. Try steeping it for a shorter period of time to make a weaker brew; also try maybe switching to a different type (green is VERY good for you, and has a fabulously delicate flavor).

I don't know why it would make you sick...I am with you though, I like milk or cream in my black tea, however, have you ever tried herbal tea, green, red, or white tea...white being a type of tea (not the color it is when you add milk to it).
green, red, white, and herbal teas all have more antioxidants in them then black tea alone..(I know, that stinks doesn't?)...but I have found that these teas are good and I can't put milk them. They just don't taste right with milk in them.

Here are some sights to get you looking at those teas...

It could be that the acid in the tea is making you sick. When you put milk in tea, the baseness of the milk makes the tea less acidic.

You may be allergic to it (black tea actually tastes quite good for me )

Maybe its because your body isn't used to drinking tea without milk
