Thank you for all of your answers so far. I do not believe I am bi-polar because that is really extreme. Also, I am 21 so it cannot be menopause. :)

Hormone imbalance- especially if you are or were on birth control pills.

Bipolar Disorder is NOT extremely rare. In fact 5.7 million Americans have it so ruling it out on rarity is is a little silly. Besides, those 5.7 million people are all over the country so why not you?

A better approach is to look at the symptoms and see if they match your illness. While you might be able to get a good idea of what's going on only a Doctor (preferably a Psychiatrist) can make an accurate diagnosis.

Is it true that people with Bipolar Disorder have longer cycles than you've described? Kinda, there are lots of variations in the way symptoms present themselves. Many people do experience months of Depression followed by months of Mania and periods of normal between them but some people experience something called a mixed state. This can be depression AND anxiety or agitation. They can experience Mania and Depression in the same day. Sometime they just seem moody.

But what you're experiencing might be something all together. Sometimes stress makes us a little crazy. Or hormones can make us moody and there are lots of those floating around in everyone. The only true way to find out what's making you feel this way is to see a Doctor.

Please remember that this isn't your fault and it doesn't make you a bad person, just someone that needs a little help. There is no shame in asking for help. We all do sometimes.

Could be the food you're eating. If you are eating too much junk food and snacks, that could really change your body's chemistry, thus your mood. Eat healthy. That should help. If not best to get a doctor check up. You might have an overactive gland.

There could be several factors. Could you pregnant or going through menopause (sorry, don't know your age). Those are some other considerations.

Possibilities:

- chemical imbalance
- lack of self-control
- foods you eat (alergic reactions)
- lack of sleep
- too much caffiene
- menopause (I don't know your age)
- deep emotional hurts that are manifesting themselves in different behaviors (this happened to me; solved by good counseling).

No offense intended on any of these...

Good luck.
