My 8 month old puppy has been sick since monday. He vomited while I was at work and a couple times after I came home he had no interest in eating at all. So I took him into the emergancy vet. They gave him shots of fuild to keep him hydrated and pepcid ac. They said if he wasen't eating but morning to get him into the vet. Well he was eating in the morning but still vomiting. I tryed giving him a bland diet scrambled eggs (he didnt like) and then later in the day I gave him about a cup of ground beef cooked over the stove. I took him back to the vet Wednesday morning x-rays where done nothing showed up. The vet said he could have been feed too much too soon and the ground beef was probably too greasy. He has been given two medications to keep his food down and prevent dirrhea. Also I was told to give him Pepcid AC once a day. I gave him one dose last nite. He was doing great untell midnite when he vomited again. I have only been feeding him I/D bland food. Should I take him back in

Try only feeding him dry kibble. Sometimes puppies can have sensitive stomachs to the wet food. Don't feed him people food, unless specifically told by your vet

I agree that the beef and the eggs are a little too hard on a sick tummy. Try boiling some chicken (cut into tiny pieces) and cook some rice in the same pot (chicken & rice soup) -- do NOT add any salt or pepper -- just the chicken / rice / broth. Give him a little at a time. If he holds that down, in an hour give him a little more. Keep this up for about a week. He WILL have a fit when you start to give him back his reg. food, just stir in about 1/2 cup of the soup to disguise the taste for a couple of days. If the soup does not start to help in the next 12 hrs -- take him right back in.

It sounds like ur puppy has parvovirus. If he is not very energetic and has bad diarehea doesn't want to eat and is puking when he does eat he just might. Have u had ur puppy vaccinated with all of his shots? Tell the vet all symptoms. These symptoms are for sure tell tail signs of the virus. If Ur puppy does have it the vet will keep him in the animal clinic, give him antibiotics and keep him under observation. pets need to be kept up on their vaccinations just for reasons like parvo. A dog can pick it up on his paw from contaminated soil from another dog and lick to introduce it to itself. I hope ur puppy doesn't have it but if he does he will be ok as long as u get him medical help.

well done, you are doing the right thing. It is encouraging that they found nothing bad on Xray. Is he drinking? That is the main thing. Yes, probably go back, and don't be afraid to seek a second opinion - your vet should not mind if this keep happening. Is he tired and sleepy? Has he had all his vaccinations? You sound like a good owner, so I am sure he has.

join some of the yahoo groups on feeding dogs, they have good info. if he continues to vomit, have them run a full stool sample to check for parasites, worms and what not. don't feed him anything for like 12 hours. make sure he drinks lots of water, even pedialyte if necessary. keep him relaxed, let him sleep, and try giving him boiled chicken (very small amounts throughout the day) or a little kibble. best of luck.

You bet you should! Boiled rice with a tad of chicken is the best thing to feed a dog with a sick stomach. Remove the chicken fat.

sound to me like you need a second opinion go see another vet and fast. Be sure to take the medicines that you are using with you and tell him everything that you've done to help you baby.
Good luck.

It could be lots of things. From parvo to distemper. Has your puppy gotten his regular puppy shots? If not it could be anything. Take him back to the vet.
