Cut the 2 oranges into enough pieces so they all can have the same amount.

Not what I would actually do but, to ensure that 'my' kid got 'more' share (apart from buying more oranges, which is probably what I would in reality do) Dealing with the goods you have given me, I would cut my kids friend's orange in half,,, that way, MY kid gets more than my kids friend and step-sister child but they both get a "fair" portion.
We won`t go into how much grovelling and pleading went into the whole deal tho....!!

Not give any of them any oranges and tell them to go buy their own, greedy buggers.
Alternitively, is the answer perhaps that your step sisters daughter or whoever IS your daughter's friend? Then she could have half of one orange and your daughter would get 1 and a half. If not then pfft I don't quite get what you're on about.

I agree w/the first response. Buy another orange? - or - You could have them peel the oranges, then seperated every slice divide by 3! Gives the little ones busy time and you a little free time!
