Callie: I didn't ask about what people did. I asked about what GOD did. Are you telling me that it's ok because god did things differently back then?

You would go to jail for doing the things God TELLS people to do in the OT (for example, slaughtering one's son for his amusement).

Of course!

The difference is Gods wisdom is not mans wisdom, Gods ways are not mans ways. God knows what is best from a eternal perspective, we only see what is here and now.

Our very existence is dependent on God, every day, we only live is by the grace of God. In other words we are God's and he can do with us as he will.
We do not own anything but our thoughts and desires, not even our own life. (look at Job and how God allowed him to loose everything, then bessed him with more later). So when God decides to have us die, he can. If we choose to damage or destroy what he has a right to do, we are damaging what is Gods, thus it's wrong and most people have laws against that.

Would you have the ability to do any of those things? Do you have the right to be able to do those things that only God can do? No. We don't have the power to flood the earth, if that's what you are talking about (I've seen your other posts). God did that to punish the sinners in the world, and to make things new again. And don't pull the "He killed innocent babies" thing. If they are innocent, then they are in Heaven. You don't need to worry about them. It's the people who sinned that were punished. We might go to jail for the things God did, if they were wrong and we had the ability.

During the Vietnam War, some people went to jail rather than be drafted, because of God's commandment not to kill. If there is another draft, no doubt more people would make this same choice.

LaShawn Harris is going to jail for drowning her child - when God told her to do it. They found her guilty - and she tried to plead not guilty by reason of insanity....(wonder how God feels about that...Abraham didnt claim insanity when God almost made him kill his son...)

Finding her guilty means that she wasnt "insane" - which means God really must have told her to do it, but the court finds God's command to be a little cruel, so she is going to jail for life...

One would go to jail for doing things God says to do in the OT. For example: stoning rebellious teenagers, stoning girls who aren't virgins when they marry, killing gays, etc.

Steve your question lacks credibility...it was a different time and place in history and societal norms and laws were completely different.

No, if I could cause plagues and floods and part the red sea, I don't think they could catch me, much less keep me in prison.
