I would say at least once every two weeks for regular styling. As far as perming, probably once every 3 months depending on the texture of your hair.

I've been perming my hair for ages and its about 3-4 inches past my shoulders. I'd say not too often. It depends on how you syle your hair though. Since i usually tie mine back, even if its grown out a bit it seems to straighten out a bit. But even when its grown out i still use straighteners and wear it out . i don't mind too much really sometimes i wait about 2 months even.

I would never recommend more that every 4 weeks. And when you do perm, don't wait till you can't bear the burn, you'll end up scarring your scalp. do it lightly and be careful.

Well, i dont have a perm, but my hair is chemically straightened. Kinda the same thing, just with an opposite effect. I get mine retouched every 8 months. Not sure if perms last longer or even shorter amounts of time. Also it is effected by how quickly your hair grows.

If you are talking about a relaxer, which straightens your hair I would say it depends. I get my hair relaxed, maybe every 6-8 months. Everyones hair grows at a different pace, so whenever your new growth starts to really come in and not looking so good that is when you should go and get a touch-up.

4-6 weeks whenever you have regrowth you don't want to wait to long because regrowth is very unattractive
