i am 17 he is 24. i have known this guy for over 7 mo., he is a family friend i have always had a crush on him, but never thought anything would escalate from there. And now i have found out he has adored me ever since we've met. Could we actually have a relationship?

well...i think it depends what this guy has in mind for a relationship. you are pretty young for him and he might have other ideas in mind for a relationship so just be sure to realize what you are getting in to and be sure to take it slow especially with the physical stuff.

Legally? It depends on the state you live in. The Age of Consent here in CT is 16. Some (most) states are 18 while others are 15. In the eyes of the law, it depends where you live. Other countries, like Italy, have the Age of Consent set at 14.
With that said, it depends on the person. Some people mature faster then others. If you really think you're mature enough to handle a serious relationship with a 24 year old, then go for it. Just don't let sex get involved at your age, it will ruin you two.

WHY would a 24 year old man want to be with such a young person? You are either incredibly mature, or he is immature. In my opinion, you still have a lot of growing to do, not necessarily the numbers, but the age that you are at, you will change and grow so much as a person in the next few years, and you need to be careful about how much an older man can influence you. Don't get me wrong, my hubby is six years older than me, but I didn't date him until I was 24/25.

yes you could although legally you are a minor and he can get into trouble. Wait till you are 18.
However, you stated that he has adored you since you met? that seriously worries me. If you have a physical relationship with him, will you simply be fulfilling a sick fantasy? how long have you known him? And can you accept that he has secretly adored a X yr old girl? If you knew a guy (whom you had no crush on)who was 24 and he told you that he adored a X yr old girl, how would you feel about it?

My paernts had an age gap of 11 years and were married for 25 years untill my dad passed.
My husband is 13 years older than I am and we are so happily married, going on 6 years now! We have so much in common and the age difference is never been an issue. He does not look or act that old, and I am mature for being my age, so it works.
As long as you are happy, don;t let others discourage you from what your heart feels. Love isn't bound by your age...it does not listen to numbers but to feelings. Good Luck!!!

You could but there are things to consider your 17 and that is still somewhat thought of as illegal until your 18. Its good that you share a mutual attraction and if you do decide to date I would leave sex out of it for a long time, at least until you "legal". i don't believe of that there is a project with the age distinction. i'm 19 and my boyfriend is 29. there is mutual recognize and love. I honestly have keen to attend till marriage to have sex, and he thoroughly respects my decision and has never even tried some thing. in spite of the undeniable fact that, I do imagine that there is a achieveable of abuse (sexual or emotional) in a courting with that wide of an age distinction. i imagine you'll want to objective to be associates with this guy in the previous shifting on to at least some thing more effective. At 17, I wouldn't. Wait until you are at least 18.. Since your 17, you must still be in high school, and you won't eally have anything in common with someone who is probably finished or close to finishing college. Wait until you are a little bit older. Plus, if he really wants to be with you, he won't mind waiting.

7 months is not really a long time of knowing a person.i would be really careful and wait till i was 18 yrs old.if he cares any thing about you he would not put you in this situation like this with your family. he needs to wait ! also in time you might realize if this man is really meant for you or not.don't rush to have sex with this man it is against the law.

Yes i was with a 19 year old boy when i was 12. And it was great, but we had to keep it a secret. My advise is wait because he's so close to the family. If he really likes you then he'll be there when you turn 18 and you can run off with him and never look back. GOOD LUCK.........
