No such thing... but that would be INTERESTING.

1. Atheists would not look forward to the rapture because the rapture is an odd sort of wishful thinking indulged in by some sects of Christianity.
2. Atheists do not believe in God, therefore do not believe in Christianity and its related beliefs.
3. Atheists do not, therefore believe that the rapture will at some point carry off all of the Christians. (The fact is not all Christians believe in the rapture, either.)

Yes. We'd finally know the answer to the question of if there's a deity. And we could get on with making the world a better place finally without the Christians.
However, the rapture was an 19th century invention. It is not scriptural. The few verses used to point to a literal rapture are taken wholely out of context to do so.

Probably not, becuse they don't believe in it. Although, they should really worry about it.
Those who follow God's word look forward to the Rapture, because their REWARDS and ETERNAL LIFE shall be given to them.
Those who don't follow it or don't believe in it have nothing but DEATH to look forward to.
One more thing; Christians will NOT disappear from earth!
The Rapture is a period of tribulation and disaster.
However, those who have been faithful to God (and are alive when the Rapture takes place) will be speared from Plagues and Eternal Death. That is why the Angels will mark them with the Seal of God, just before the Rapture.
-Couple notes, I mean this in a very respectful way;
**It's funny that we have all these Atheists surfing through Religious Questions. Why?
**Another thing, look at the voting of my answer. Nothing new there! I am the only one here (so far) who believes in the Rapture. Hence, all the thumbs-down votes.

Well it's not going to happen and I am an Ãsatrúar not an Atheist, but...
I'd be happy to have (most of) them disappear. Come the rapture, we'd have Earth to ourselves!

They should dread the Rapture unless they are willing to repent. People will disappear from the earth as it says in the Bible.

The problem with your theory is, if the Rapture happens, then there is a God and that would kind of defeat atheism wouldn't it? That would actually prove the Christians right.

Rapture is a myth. I don't know where you Evangelicals get that idea, but it's not even in line with the Bible. The Bible doesn't say anywhere that the good, Christian people of the Earth are going to go up to heaven before the Apocalypse. It doesn't even make any sense! Wouldn't the Apocalypse be the last test of these good Christian people's faith?

Do you think we could arrange a rapture wherein the Christians themselves don't disappear but just Christianity? That'd be pretty cool - a kind of philosophical rapture... I'd look forward to that.
Unfortunately it's as much a pipe dream as the other kind of rapture...

As to the first question, I don't believe it will happen. But, no, I wouldn't rejoice if all the Christians were gone, because a fair number of the people I love are Christians.

While we (athiests) dont even think the rapture is real I guess we could look forward to it. Like the lotto. We know it will never happen but always fun to look forward to.
