I have tried burning some .ISO files onto a DVD, but after the the burning is complete, all that shows on the disk in the .ISO file, and it cannot be opened by anything.

I tried what Techinator said to do, but Nero is saying that I need to put in a CD and not a DVD, even though I am selecting burn image from the DVD menu.

Any ideas?

Open nero. And browse open this file from nero, choose burning from image option and then burn it to the DVD.

I know that you've said that you use Nero, but might I suggest that you download the following little program. It's called Imgburn v2.1.0.0, and it does a good job of burning a number of different file formats. I think you'll like it.

Alternatively, if you wish to continue using Nero, right click on your .iso file and select to open with Nero Burning ROM. This will choose the correct part of the program to burn the .iso file so that you can use it normally.

instead of burning it as a data disk you have to find an option "Burn Image to Disk". It can be found under Copy and Backup Section of Nero SmartStart. GO for that option and later it will ask you for the path of the ISO file. Then it will burn it in the manner you desire.
