I have connected up my freeview hard drive to my dvd but when i try to record from the tv it plays back in black and white yet it is in colour on my tv. can any one please help?

if tv has two scarts put freeview in one and dvd in other try recording to see if it makes a difference .if oyu have it set up that way try putting freeview scart into tv and dvd scart into freeview if it has a another socket for video /aux


oh double check you are recording of the same av channel the freeveiw shows on i have a tv that has playstation in black and white say av2 but if i change it to av1 its in colour.

Its either a loose connection or a signal error. Some freeview boxes work in PAL and NTSC. PAL is whats used in the uk, while NTSC is commonly used across europe. Check your manual for your freeview box and see if 1)it dose use both 2) is set to the right signal 3)change to the right signal if needed.

You might need to do the same for your DVD player

check the leads are making a good connection. if not you may be using a scart lead that is not full function. ie not all 21 pins are wired.http://www.leadsdirect.f9.co.uk/scartwiring.htm
