i'm surprised you didn't get around to it sooner.
I usually get to bitching about past relationships on the second date or so.
It's a nice litmus test - one girl actually came out and said that she was still madly in love with her ex, and would sleep with him no matter who she was with at the time. Talk about being socially retarded, but it was nice to know before i wasted any more money on her.

Definitely not. Every relationship is different.....I see nothing wrong with talking about past relationships if you've been with someone for 9 months. Good luck!

No. Its would be an issue if the past was talked about all the time. Be happy. That means that he's dealing with whatever on his on and realizing that its his problem and not yours. He's showing you respect by letting you know whats went on with him in the past.

not really, time is a relative thing. and some ppl just take longer to open up. it may also depend on how the last relationship (s) ended, etc or if you now trust you rpresent partner enough to not hold your past against you.

If you plan to be in any relationship for any amount of time, then plan on talking about almost ALL of your past relationships at one time or another. It will only strenghthen your existing relationship and you'll learn more about each other.

No. Every relationship has it's own time course and dynamic. If it works for you two, go with it! As long as you're honest and happy and comfortable with what you do and don't share, who cares!

no...me n my fiance r together for 4 years now and we occasionally talk about the past. we know we love eachother and have moved on from our ex's. talking about the things in the past just reminds me how glad i am to be over that and with him.
