my 16 year old sister is sleeping with a 38 year old and lying to my parents about it but they know and are going to the cops about it but she still tries to see him and go against my parents and sneaking around my parents are doing everything that they can to keep them away from each other but its not working so they are doing what they can to put him in jail. she wont listen to anybody when we try to expain to her that he is just using her but she says that he loves her and wants to be with her i try to tell her that she is just getting used but she wont listen to me or anybody for that matter what do i do to get through to her????

She will not hear anything you try and say to her right now, so stop wasting your breath. What she needs is someone to be on her side. That doesn't mean you have to support her decision to be with this guy, but you might say something like "I will be here for you no matter what, I may not agree with what your doing but I still love you and will always be here for you."
Somethings are lessons learned, this sounds like one of hers. When this guy ***** her over and breaks her heart just be there to help her put the pieces back together.
It's really hard to see someone we love making such bad decisions but in the long run she will be smarter and better for it. Just be the best sister you can be to her.

tell your sister that no 38 year old man should want anything to do with a 16 year old first of all. to tell you the truth it's kinda sick. than try this approach let her know that in 2 years if she still is "in love" with him and he is still so much "in love" with that that should be no time at all also let her know that if she doesn't stop that in 2 years when she is 18 she won't get to be with him anyway if your parents press charges on him which you know they will. and im sure if she takes a 2 year break from him he will find some other young girl to use.

If she won’t listen then there really is nothing you can do in terms of her. But your parents are on the right track with going to the police. Hopefully they can put a stop to this. If he is willing to be with a 16 year old, who knows how much younger he will go to get a girl. Though she will be angry with her family meddling in her private life, you guys are doing the right thing.

This man is sick. If has to take advantage of a 16 yr old he needs help. If the police won't do anything take ur own action. Try and get proof letters, pictures of them 2gether anything to save ur sister from him. Just keep going 2 the police until they listen.

Wow, that's a very difficult situation. First of all, I definitely think talking to the police is the right thing to do.....whether or not there are love or feelings there, it is illegal for this man to be seeing your sister! I would just tell your sister how much you love her and are so concerned for her and worried for her. Just tell her if it's true love with this man then he will respect her and wait 2 more years until she becomes legal. Tell her she might possibly ruin both his and her life if they continue on like this...and if she really cares about him she would not want him to get in trouble like that....

Sometimes teenagers just need to live and learn. Either she'll be right, or your family will be.
If she has feelings for this guy, she's not going to listen, because she will think that everyone is against him, just because of the age difference.
Have ya'll tried meeting this guy, and talking to him? Get to know him, instead of just try to throw him in jail.

It seems like everyone has tried to tell her...Gosh she is so young she can't really know what love is. And I agree he is probably using her. She may have to find out the hard way. Have you ever talked to this 38 yr old guy yourself. Have your parents. Something definietly isn't right here.

You can't, if you and your parents have already told her what you think, and she's not listening, then there really isn't much you can do other than pursue the whole cop thing. Good Luck.

I think I'd first worry about getting this man arrested before trying to get her to listen.
He needs to be behind bars and NOW not yesterday.
Then maybe have your folks get her some counseling.
