sarcastic towards a religious concept such as Christianity?

The reason irony (of which sarcasm is a clumsy form) is considered such a clever technique in literature and witty conversation is because it's complex--it's not immediately obvious. Basically, when someone says something, ask yourself how likely it really is that they mean it. If it seems unlikely they mean it, they're probably being sarcastic. If chances are good they mean it, they may be sincere. If you're unsure, ask: "Seriously?" Someone who just wants to play with your head will continue to lie, but someone who's just gently ribbing you will generally 'fess up at that point, or assure you that yes, they're serious.

The condition of your mind. Do you easily perceive things that challenge your sense of "ego" or self-cherishment as being "negative" all the time? Or have you developed a truly altruistic mind free of bias and read/listen to things that way?

Sarcasm is a mental concept that is defined by the individual based on their self-concept. Some people see boogie monsters in something as simple as being told to have a nice day if they're jumpy enough.

First you must determine was it directed toward the concept or directed at your personal ignorance of it .

I suppose it is sort of like pornography -- hard to define, but you know it when you see it.
