I start with silk drops hair serum on wet hair and also Kenra straightening serum. I use an ionic hair dryer and flat iron for wet to dry hair, then a sylicone thermal spray by Kenra. This not only helps me straighten my hair, but protects it and my hair is in the best condition it has ever been in my life!

I use a spray, I have never tried a serum. But also to keep your hair healthy you need to keep it clean and condition it if its dry and curly. I use a flat iron EVERY day practically, sometimes curling it too and my stylist says my hair is very thick and healthy. You would never guess that I put so much pressure on my hair!

Serum probably coats your hair better. Sprays can't cover everything nor penetrate the hair as easily unless you dowse your hair in it.
Stick with a lotion or serum is my suggestion.
