I got a tattoo on my lower back because I wanted another tattoo and I wanted to be able to hide it just like my other two. Besides my butt (which IS a very trashy place to get a tattoo), my lower back is the only place big enough (that I can always hide) to place this particular tattoo. I am not trashy, sleazy, cheap, or easy. My tattoos are for me and my husband, unless I say so.
I also don't need to see my tattoos to be happy with them. In fact, when my back tattoo is finished it will have a representation of each of my kids, not some random thing that isn't going to mean anything in 5 years, like most girls.

Um why does anyone get one on their back then men included? Just because a woman gets a lower back tattoo doesnt mean she is just following a trend. I wanted to get one even before it was popular. I dont like people that do the same things over and over if it is an original piece then that is different.

I have a lower back tattoo, i have heard them called tramp stamps before and everything else in the book. Women who have lower back tattoos are NOT all easy, cheap and sleezy. I happen to be married and loving life. I got mine when I was 17 (4 years ago) and i got it because I wanted it not to impress anyone or to "try and get a guy" but because i thought it was cute and fit my taste and style. 30 years from now i will look at all my tattoos (9) and remember the memories for why I got them. Who cares if they get wrinkly when you are old who looks at you with interest anyway??

Uhh, I though it was just me. I love tattoo's don't get me wrong. I have two already and planning on a third one. I hear it's sexy to get a tattoo on the lower back, but now I'm getting tired of seeing it all the time. I mean geez! I agree that it's definately a "trend" thing now.

That is just their preferred location. Some people get tattoos on the back of their neck, they can't see them easily. I'm not a huge fan of generic tramp stamps (kanji, tribal, things like that...), but everyone is allowed to do as they please. Plus, its apparently very erotic for guys to see it peeking out of the pants. I think its just the trend location of the moment.

Well, they just like the placement.
It doesn't matter where you get it, if you like it.
They can always look in the mirror or turn their body to see it. Really, anything you get tattooed you have to turn your head to see, so why not get it anywhere you want?
I have my chest tattooed. I can't look down and see all of it, but I love it none the less.

I think location is often dictated by trends. When I was in high school the top tattoo location was the ankle.

i have a full back tattoo. all i have to do to see it is look in the mirror. i got it because i think the back is a large beautiful canvas to work with. sure other people can see it but i can see it too.

I have one that goes accross my entire lower back and I can see it fine. I just like tattoos so that was my starting point. But if its like that why do guys get them on their neck and upper back? Hmmmm????

because it turns guys on or who ever the audience that they want to attract to them. But in some cultures that a place they get them. But it's like something that they know will get a guy with in a 2 piece bikini or something like that.
