Probably not.

There's lots of natural sugar in fruit, which is a simple carbohydrate. While you're eating a lot of fruit, your body is going to have practically an unlimited amount of easy-to-access energy, so it'll be less likely for your body to need to burn fat.

Also, fruit is not very satisfying in the sense that it doesn't stick with you very long, so you're hungry more often. You might even eat more calories while eating fruit that you would on a more traditional diet. A regular banana has about 110 calories. That means eating just 11 per day and nothing else will already put you over 1200 calories.

I can eat 33 ounces of grilled chicken, feel more satisfied, and consume less sugar (so I'll burn fat more readily), for the exact same amount of calories.

I'd never recommend eating only one type of food though, I was just trying to prove a point. :)

Rethink the fruit-only diet, there's better ways.

Best of luck.

Having an abundant amout of fruit is a very fine thing, but don't forget that not only fruits are on the base of the healthy food pyramid, but also vegetables! And then it's slow sugar foods such as pasta, rice, bread, potatoes, etc. Next, diary foods. After that, your protein sources, such as meat, fish, eggs, beans, peas, etc. Finally, in smaller portions, fat foods; butter, (milk) chocolate, soda, things like donuts, cookies... anyway, as long as you cut off alchohol completely and red meat/poultry quite a bit, do regular exercising and all, you should be healthy! Also, try checking with a good doctor to tell you if you're not already doing okay or if you're far from it! Hope this helps and good luck!

No. When you eat fruits, the fruit releases glucose into your body. This glucose can do one of two things:
1. Refill your depleted glucose stores either in your muscles or your kidneys from a workout (these stores are not that big)
2. If the glucose stores are FULL, then the glucose will turn to FAT for later use (later use meaning you are starving and the body needs nurishment--a survival mechanism)

Good luck and train hard

You could do that... but your body needs more nutrients, and some are not in fruits.. that would only lead you to lose weight for a while after that the body "thinks" it's dying and starts keeping a reserve of guess what... FAT... so the effect is reverse, now you start gaining FAT. I would recommend to stay on complex carbs, protein and lots of workout...

fruit, sure, it is good for you, but how much fruit exactly?? do you actually NEED to lose weight - or are you just one of those people that think you do when really youre sweet as? even if not, i think this is a good idea. i like diets; they make eatting fun - unless youre obsessive beyond belief; then chill out. even if you dont lose the weight you want to, its got good health benefits, and tasty :] have fun

no, you won't. your body will go into starvation mode and hang on to everything you eat. also, you will become malnurished because of lack of fat, protein, etc. you will most likely bloat, get acne and it won't be pretty or fun.

instead do it healthy. eat 6 smallmeals a day. drink plenty of water and cut out the processed foods.

I believe so since your sugar sources are natural and no fats involved. Good luck!
