if I only had two or three more floors to go, I'd stay on.
If there was twenty more floors, I'd get off and wait for another.

If there were others on the elevator, I would make faces to indicate how disgusted I am (to keep anyone from thinking that I was the tooter.) Then I would cough and get out a hankie to cover my nose (just for dramatic affect.) But I am pretty lazy ~ so I would keep on riding.
If the tooter and I were the only ones on the elevator, I would try to respond in kind ~ as loudly as possible! It is always good to seek common ground when you can.

Well, we all release gas from time to time, its just a natural body function. We can control it most of the time, but...there are times when that little rascal will slide right on out. My Fiancee can release some of the most gosh awful farts, I have ever encountered and some just hang in the dang air. So I would just try to hold my breath as long as possible and pray,that the elevator Doors open up realllllll soon.

probably get off as I wouldn't want it seeping into my clothes, then find a restroom and wash my nose out, so it doesn't stick to the hairs in my nostrils. Then get back on, and hope that when I go back down, that person isn't going down at the same time

I would continue to the next stop and hold my breath. Then hope to god it doesn't ruin my clothes for the morning

i would get off at the next stop cause that is nasty and i would wait to get on another on they should have some more class

I would say in a loud voice either " Better out than in!" or "Downwind!!" or if in Ireland I would say " Holy sweet moothar of Jay-zuz who farted?", or if in an army building the correct call would be "gas! gas! gas!, NBC alarm!"

Probably try and hold my breath until I get to my destination, or it wears off, if to strong or far away then get off.

if there are loads of other people in there with you then stay in. However if they get off, get off with them. If it is just you and the offender then get off!
