I don't know why older people like short hair.
If you like your hair long, then keep it long. Who is she to judge? There are no hair police. It's your hair. Do what you like with it.

You are only 25! You have no need to worry about hair length yet. Waist length is fine for your age and if you like it, then leave it. It's really your choice and just because a 50-something year old didn't think it was appropriate, doesn't mean it isn't! I used to have a teacher back in middle school who was 60-something and had hair down to her butt and she looked great to be honest. So no, there is no unwritten law about hairlength at a certain age so do whatever floats your boat :]

I believe you should always strive to look your best. I also think that sometimes people get stuck in a rut and miss out on great hairstyle opportunities. If it was more than one person commenting on your hair that is most likely a sign that it is time to try another style but that may not necessarily mean to cut it all off.Try bangs or layers etc. If it was just one negative comment odds are that person was a player hater and probably As far as length and law goes , I believe that anything goes as long as you wear your style with confidence. If you know you look your best then you know how to work it.

I do not actualy think tht there is an age to cut your hair off because hair only ages you if it is not in good condition. Although, i do think that waist length is a little bit too long because it is not very fashionable. I think that it should be no longer than elbow length and have a few long lairs. ihope that this helps. good luck x

For a younger woman, hair can certainly make one look even younger than you are. It can really, especially if you are petite or have a "young face," make you look extremely young, ESPECIALLI if it's waist length. I would recommend cutting it to your mid-back, to start, and eventually going even shorter (like, shoulder-length) WITH TIME because, especially if your job is a professional one or one in which you're looked at as an authority figure, people may start to question your professionalism or expertise on things. Now, as one gets older, women sometimes look "softer" with longer hair. I know older women (mid 40s and beyond) who may grow their hair long, but then chop it off for a good cause, like Locks for Love for cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Ultimately, the decision is yours, but know that, if you ever decide to cut it, there are some places you can give the cut hair to for a good cause.

Cut it when you get as old and dumb as that 50 something lady. My sister is 48 and has hair down to her knees. It's her hair. She can do what she wants with it. If you don't have a job where your hair length is a safety factor, just ignore the old bag.

Alot of times its seen as unprofessional if women have their hair much longer than shoulder length. It seems like alot of women get short hair after they have children because its so much easier to take care of.
If you want to keep your long hair, try layers and make sure its well taken care of with no split ends. Other than that, I'd suggest that most women have shoulder length hair by whatever age they are when they get their first job in a conservative or corporate atmosphere.

I am 64 and had short hair for a long time now I am letting it grow long. It doesn't matter what age you are it's your hair. I had a grandmother that had hair that touch the floor when it was down. During the day she kept it in a bun.

Tell that 50 year old douchebag to go stuff it, because as a guy, I love long hair on a woman and it's especially extra sexy when the hair is wasit long and silky to the touch. Don't listen to anyone, because most women would wish to have hair that long and healthy.
