Where do I go to change the number of items that pop up and are "running", ie; messenger, kodak, etc when I turn my computer on.

I don't want any programs to automatically log in just because I've turned my computer on.

Click start, run, type in msconfig hit enter.
A window pops up.
Click the Startup Tab
Unselect the programs you don't want
then hit ok, it'll ask you to reboot. Do so then when you come back up you should have a window that popped up saying you have changed your files. Click the button to never show again. and you're done. Simple fix.

just go to the properties of the softwares that u dont like to start automatically and uncheck the option "start at windows login"

eg. for yahoo messenger..go to messenger menu and go to preference and under the general option uncheck "Automatically start yahoo messenger"
