PLEASE !! no stupid answers, if you don't have a favourite one, don't answer, also no answer refering to yourself as a charity, I'm just trying to find which is the most popular charity in UK.

Good question - a report in today's Guardian entitled Charity brand value measures up - states it is Cancer Research UK - check out www.countmeincalendar.info for campaigns run by CRUK and hundreds of other charities

I like the way Diana drew attention to charities that UK people hadn't taken too much interest in.: Aids, homelessness, leprosy, land-mines. I use to work for Oxfam and we had a huge campaign against anti-personal land-mines, that no-one seemed to notice. Then Diana got involved an interest soared.
I wasn't a huge Diana fan, but I did respect her choices of charity and her thinking behind those choices.
I also have a lot of respect for people who give to the most needy and/or the most neglected people of the world, I think that they have very appropriate values.

I have lots of charities that I think are doing excellent jobs and I would be hard pushed to find my favourite so I'm going to pick the one that means the most personally.
It would have to be MIND as they campaign for better treatment of mental health illnesses and try to stamp out the phenomenon known as "postcode lottery" where people living in 1 area get better treatment than those in another. They also campaign to rid mental health issues of all the stigma's that are attached and make people aware it's more common than they think. My husband is bi-polar and MIND have been our life lines at times!

I support the RNLI too - as a sailor, its good to know they are there if I need them and its amazing to think what they go through considering they are all volunteers. Additionally, I like supporting local charities, such as our local special care baby unit.

I have a standing order donation each month to Great Ormond Street Children's Hospital. Purely because it reminds me how blessed I am that my daughter is healthy, and by donating,I am hopefully helping a child to attain good health-or at the very least,be kept comfortable.

I do not live in UK, I prefer to give charity to those people who can not ask for help. I know them that they need help but there self respect does not allow them to ask, i always give my charity to those people. They can be my relatives, friends , neighbors or people from my surroundings.

The Maury Povich No Baby Daddy Foundation.
He started it 4 yrs ago when he discovered there is a real need for it. It pays for the plain tickets and hotels for the whores on welfare that go back 25 times.
