I really don't like my laugh. It is very loud and I normally do not talk loud so I don't understand why I laugh so loud.

At least you ARE laughing. Better than bitching. Be yourself.

When you are overcome by something funny, you laugh. So what if its loud!! Really, I have been dissed for my loud laugh and after trying to supress it, I've decided that when I experience joy to that degree, my laughter should be like music to those who love me. I laugh now with wreckless abandon, and have never felt better.

My laugh is loud and sometimes I feel it may be annoying someone, but I think as long as its not one of those "fake lookatme attention seeking I am such a fun person" laughs then don't worry about it. You know as long as you don't laugh at the drop of a hat no-one should mind!!!

A person can't change a true laugh. Besides, I love a good hearty laugh. It feels good to laugh that way, and it's fun to hear it from others. This should be the least of your worries.

Well, laughter comes out naturally, so I guess if you're serious about it you should try to find out first how you would like to laugh, and then start practicing that laughter. Try to do it in the moments when you actually feel like laughing, like after a joke or when watching a funny movie. Of course it will sound phony, but hopefully one day that will come out naturally instead of that cackle. Good luck!

I had a MORTIFYING laugh in the past too! Here what had to happen to make it go away:

While being with friends, practice laughing and tell them to notify you when the annoying sound comes.

Watch funny videos or read jokes while you are alone, try as hard as possible to laugh well.

__________

Until then you might want to say if you laugh badly"sorry but that's just hilarious!" so the other person is flattered and forgets about thee laugh..

I don't know anyone who says they like their own laugh . I wouldn't worry about it . It's good for the soul . You are probably laughing from the bottom of yours - and that's a GOOD thing .

He needs to regulate this chortle or i'm bringing a bat.
