gaggle with Mendel's throat paint or with hot boiling water with some salt
using throat paint is more effective, u should be able to get one from the hospital but use it with care coz u should not ingest it and use about 40 drops of it in boiling water( and one thing more sore throat is not a disease its a viral infection which effects the throat cells and develops puss cells and if it gets prolonged then u should see a doctor soon coz it could lead to other complications so rather take care of it when it starts) and if your father is suffereing from sore throat for 9 years then its not sore throat its something else which u name as sore throat )

Try garggling with warm salt water, 1 teaspoon for an 8 ounze glass of water, every 2 hours. Drink warm tea with honey or any assorted flavored teas.
I believe you need to see an Allergist. If you have this all year round that's what I would suggest. If the Allergist can't help you they will refer you to the proper specialist.
Always follow your doctor's advice when you find what condition you have.

Diluted vinegar helps gargle with 1:1 solution vinegar and water. But if this is a continuous problem, have you seen a Dr. if not you need to see one. I don't know where you live but there may be pollution, or there may be allergens irritating your throats, I would start with a Dr. you want to rule out any serious causes, and if it is allergies there are many over the counter and prescription medications to help.

Warm saltwater, or tea with honey and lemon will help, but you need to find out what's causing your sore throats - could be allergies. See your doctor, or an ENT doc.

I think drinking any hot liquid will help soothe the soreness in one's throat. Also, I've heard honey can help soothe it. Many singers drink it before they perform.
