I would suggest sitting down with an agent from each one of the companies that you are considering. A good agent will have no problem sitting with you to help compare apples to apples. One company I would suggest you check with is www.unitedamerican.com They have been in business since 1947 and Medicare is their niche market. They offer a number of supplements that provide excellent coverage and their avg claim paying time is 2.9 days. They are rated A+ by AM Best and AA by Standard and Poors. For more information contact me at agliddenua@comcast.net Good luck in your search!

What state are you in? I can give you rates if you tell me, or at least a ball park for several different co. 1st you need to know that a medicare supplement is an insurance product. Blue cross/Blue Shield, Sterling, Kaiser, etc... are not supplements they are HMO's/PPO's. Huge difference. You get what you pay for. Supplements are Private Insurance offered through Insurance companies. You go to any doctor that takes Medicare, no co-pays/deductibles, etc... HMO's/PPO's have co-pays, you use their doctors, many deductibles, they don't have accept or keep you enrolled, and can pull out of an area entirely. Sterling, etc. may be less expensive, but you get what you pay for. If you are just turning 65 you have 3 months prior to your 65th birthday and 3 months after that you are in open enrollment and the insurance company has to approve you for coverage with no health underwriting. If you have any issues, don't miss this window of opportunity. Message me, and I'll let you know how much a supplement will cost you. Hope I can help.
