You'll be sent to ait my bad, tech scool., then to a duty post, and then in all reality, probably Iraq. Hope your MOS has a long schooling.
And after, yes, you may be recalled, happened to my fiance. He was one of the ones IRR called back up.

Okay, after you finish basic you will be send to Tech School. Based on what you job is Tech school can run from 6 weeks to 6 months. What happens afterwards depends on how long your enlistment is and how long you stay in. Expect to be deployed. Almost all jobs in the AF do deploy now. Expect your deployment to be anywhere from 4 months to one year plus. My husband was deployed 3 times last year (Afghanistan and Iraq) and is currently in Iraq now. If you signed up for 4 years and get out after 4 years the government can recall you for up to 4 years after (to total 8 years), you won't keep your benefits. If you retire after 20 years you will keep all your benefits. What you asked is a really broad question. I think we could all answer better if you were a bit more specific.

I don't believe there is any AIT in the air force. As AIT stands for Advanced Infantry Training. So it will be more about your aptitude what advance training you get. Good Luck.

You couldn't think to find this stuff out when you enlisted? Your recruiter didn't give you the pamphlet?

Clean bed sheets, good food, TV, swimming pools, movie stars. I wished I joined the AF.
