If you choose to do it yourself, plan on forking over big bucks. Worth it if you are transferring 70+ films. Otherwise, here is a link to one of the units still for sale:

If you only have a few films, hire a pro. Here is a link to a highly recommended studio:

Wow, that replaced into finished, notwithstanding it nonetheless did no longer touch on the way I do it, and that i think of is the least confusing. I surely have a software called studio 8 (i think of they are as much as Studio 10 with tips from now) and there's a version featuring hardware to apply with the applying that converts analog to digital. The application will then produce a report that is copied onto a DVD employing any sort of DVD writing classes (i admire Nero).

1. you could do this by using your cam to convert to vhs, then vhs to dvd which is simpler
or 2. transfer via firewire port to your PC - this involves the use of a pass-through adapter which outputs a digitized video signal in the industry standard DV format. Many consumer-level miniDV and Digital8 camcorders have this facility built-in. The DV signal can then be fed into a computer equipped with a firewire port.

I hope you find an answer cause I have a caon camcorder that can not be fixed but I have all these recorded tapes that we can't watch them. I need to have them put on DVD or something. Maybe a shop that fixes vidoes equipment.

You need your projector for the 8mm and projected onto your movie screen , having it closer to the screen your pictures will be sharper and brighter , put your digital camera almost next to your projector and chose a size that your digital camera will tape it comfortably , basically fill in your view screen . and from there you have to down load it to your PC to convert it to DVD.

i'm not sure what the quality will be lik but you can project it onto a wall and film it with the camcorder. try to put the camcorder as close to the projecter as possible.
