I'm not talking about the side cramps that most people get when jogging. And its not heart burn, its right in my stomach region. I've started running again, and I'm a large guy with a bit of a gut. Would it be because I'm overweight? Would it have anything to do with what I'm eating before hand? I usually don't eat breakfast, but just have a soda in the morning for the caffeine. Is that bad?

Tank up on some water!.
How does one benefit from water ?.
Medical research has shown that regular water intake helps eliminate dyspeptic pains like gastritis, duodenitis, and heart burn. Our bodies use many hormones, enzymes, and neurotransmitters to complete the digestion process. With out ample water intake, the pancreas is less efficient, acids in the stomach are not properly neutralized, and the functions of the intestine are inhibited.Over an extended period of time, this can lead to constipation, colitis pain, false appendicitis pain, and even hiatus hernia.

Yes, it is bad to only have a soda for breakfast. Breakfast is the most important meal to eat all day. It kick starts your metabolism for the day so your body can begin to burn fat. When you do not eat, your body automatically begins to store fat to keep from "starving". Plus, if you don't eat breakfast you are more likely to eat more and make bad choices for you lunch and dinner meals.
