My husband has an antique (junk) car. I want to call a hauling company that removes junk cars, have that vehicle towed away, give my husband $500.00 and then tell my husband that someone bought it. What do I have to do to get rid of that junk car? Can you give me specifics on faking a car for sale by owner?

You can donate the car to different charities and the value of the car will be tax deductible. http://www.kidney.org/support/kidneycars/index.cfm

I wouldn't lie to my husband. You're not only lying about how you got rid of the car here, you'd also be lying about where the $500 came from. An antique car can be worth way more than $500, too. It's better to be open with anyone than to sneak around behind their back.

First of all, I'd find out if the car was worth more than the $500. Secondly, there is a matter of a title and all of those incidentials. Honesty is always the best policy, BUT with men, sometimes it isn't that simple. If the car is parked on your property where the neighbors can see it, the City could cite you to have it removed. This actually happened to a former co-worker of mine. See if the city will come by and give an order to move the car; if it's in the back yard, they probably won't. Your LAST resort may be to talk to him, honestly and openly about needing the car to move or have someone he trusts and respects to talk to him. Men are sometimes stubborn we have to do what works!!!

Like you said, " He has an antique car". Maybe he has plans for it and he just hasn't had the time or money to fix it up. Sometimes it takes years to fix it up. Maybe you could help him get started. Have you seen those antique car auction shows on cable? You never know how much your car is worth until you look into it. It could be an investment in the future. I'd love to get my hands on an old Mustang to fix up for my daughter. But, it takes time and money. Ask HIM what are his plans for HIS car. You wouldn't want him selling or donating your grandmothers wedding ring that is just sitting there, now would you? Make sure you both come to an agreement on what to do with it. Or there will be resentment. Just think about it.

Lot of good answers arlready here, Take Sexy_Latina's advice, I don't know anything about purses, but it sounds like an expensive one. Beyond that, if you take away that car, you take away a dream. Besides that, he may pick up something worse. I can't count how many projects I have, but I would be crushed if I lost any one of them, without deciding on it myself. I have to assume you have already talked (or chewed) it over with him, or else you wouldn't be trying to be sneaky, can you let dogs lie for a while longer, is that eyesore really hurting you? Let him know how much it bothers you, but please, be receptive to his feelings too. It may mean more to him than you realize. It also may mean more to you than he realizes.

This must be a traveling disease among men...neighbor has one he will not part with; husband had one in yard for two years...they become unrunnable and rust...good for parts only or someone who wants to restore (both hard to find).
DMV request duplicate title you will need VIN from windshield...the title needs signed over...usually...
Husband is going to be furious; be patient and get him to get rid of vehicle.
Sometimes there are ordinances in towns about junk vehicles

Would you rather your husband give up the car and start drinking, or running around? Love your husband the way he is. An antique car is the least of the problem you COULD have.

If you do, keep the $500. You'll need it to support yourself when he kicks you out the house.

Seriously, don't do it. You don't know what the car is, how much it's worth, or why it's important to him.

Doing anything to a man's car without his knowledge is about on a par with him sleeping with your sister.

Why not just communicate with him? Let him know you don't want it around, and maybe he will be willing to sell it. What type of car is it? Almost any car is worth something to somebody. That pile of "junk" may be well worth more than $500 to the right buyer, even just for parts.
