My GF owns a Pom and they are sweet adorable dogs. I own a 1/2 Pom and 1/2 Shih-Tzu and she is adorable, friendly and if anything she's bossy.. she has a bit more 'shih tzu' personality I think, but she's a show off like her Pom father. I think they are great. They don't shed but do require but do require brushing :) take care of it's teeth! :)

I own many and they are wonderful creatures. They are small, smart, loyal and you can teach a good one to do many things even sneeze on command. They do not shed much at all if you brush 1-2 X's per week and best of all they can live to be 25 yrs old.I have one that acts like a teenager that is 17+ and he still plays with the babies.Get a book and read up on them you will be amazed. They do not have a lot of health problems if they are properly bred either.I do no line breeding or in breeding.Never have and never will .Good Luck Great Choice!!!!!!!

My gosh, do they shed! My Pom gets brushed daily and I still have fur puffs all over! But I love her and don't care.
I guess it depends on each dog's personality, but mine is very jealous of other animals getting any attention from me. She will push herself between my hand and the dog or cat I'm petting! She does get along fine with my friends pets when we go visiting. She doesn't try to attack or anything, I'm just not "allowed" to show them any affection! She barks a lot, but she's just being protective of me, I think. They are sweet, playful and funny and they have the cutest face of any breed! They are definitely an indoor dog. Mine prefers sitting on a pillow at all times. She was born a princess.

I've had poms for 15 years, and they are wonderful, sweet dogs. That said, they can be a handful to train. You have to be careful as they are very small and you have to watch they don't get injured. They THINK they're 200 lb. dogs and won't hesitate to jump on a rottie if he's in their territory.
Check out information on-line to see if a lovely Pom can fit into your lifestyle.

Only get a pom-pom if you are ready for combing it daily and putting up with its barking. They bark alot! Also they are territorial.

Bark Bark Bark!
I have used to have one. She was CRAZY.
Funny and cute, but absolutely nuts.
It was so hard to train her. We have had many dogs and cats, and this one was almost as hard as the dalmation.
Spring for some pro training.
