God said in 2 Chronicles 7:14
"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."

If this is true, which I believe it is, because God does not lie, then if we pray to have our hearts made humble, and then with those humbled hearts pray for forgiveness as God says here, then there is hope for having our nation healed from all this mess.

Won't you pray today, if you dare to call yourself a believer in Jesus Christ, won't you pray?

The verse is UNIVERSAL, therefore what ever nation you are a part of can pray and receive this promise of Gods.

True this was written for Israel, but Israel is like the older brother or sister that walks the path before its younger siblings, we learn from her mistakes God uses Israel as a mirror to all the lands and all the people everywhere and GOD IS THE SAME TODAY AS YESTERDAY and TOMORROW, He is from EVERLASTING TO EVERLASTING and this promise he made for Israel 'yesterday' is a promise he has for us 'today!'

oh, the ignorance...
That quote is talking about the nation of Israel, not America. It was a specific "promise" for a specific time and problem.

Second, there is no evidence of any kind that "god" has ever made any promise OR kept it.

No, I won't pray to some made-up mythical god who can't do anything because he's imaginary. I *will* get up off my knees and do something USEFUL to make my country better, rather than pretending I can make a magic wish to a magic sky fairy and everything will be wonderful...

I don't believe in your god, so no, I won't. I also think that maybe if people would go out and try to help and make their voices heard rather than staying at home and praying, maybe things would change for the better.

Sure.

"Dear Zeus, Chief God of the many Gods who oversaw the first culture to understand democracy, help heal this poor, idiot nation of the delusion that they are a democracy, and help the civics teachers remind people that the USA is in fact a Representative Republic. In Hercules name we pray, Amen."

But do you know what God's name is? Look up Psalm 83:18 and see for yourself. You'll find that the "United States of America" nowhere contains God's name, but there is one religion on earth that does...

If that line interior the Bible approximately God elevating up and placing down rulers is real, i'm scared as hell because of the fact i do no longer understand what God is making an attempt to do to this usa with tips from putting B.O. in cost different than I see a downward trend, and a leaning in direction of a one international order*. i understand he positioned undesirable kings in cost in Israel and then permit Israel get wiped out / conquered because of the fact He replaced into mad at them (assuming you carry the Bible as real). No, i do no longer pray plenty anymore, different than for myself, in case there's a God, and to repair issues out in my recommendations. yet is nice which you pray. *you will no longer brush off this concept so speedy in the adventure that your tax money ($515 BILLION) bypass to EADS (Airbus) to hire Europeans to construct our tanker refueling airplanes rather of immediately going with Boeing whether apparently a sprint greater high priced, because of the fact Boeing workers {and all interrelated workers} choose jobs, and Obama talks approximately making jobs, yet then he won't provide jobs to Boeing (yet a minimum of each and all the laid off workers gets loose well-being care from those of you unlucky sufficient to toil 12 hours an afternoon to help us.)

Not specifically for any nation, no.

But I'll pray for religious aceptance all over the world:

Gracious Goddess Mother of all that lives,
We call out to you to guide all of your children:
Bless our minds, that we may be open to each other's truths,
Bless our eyes, that we may see each others' value,
Bless our ears, that we may hear each other with understanding,
Bless our mouths, that we may speak to each other with compassion,
Bless our hearts, that we may be filled with love,
Bless our hands, that they may heal, not harm,
Bless our feet, that we may walk beside each other in friendship.
Great Goddess, Mother of birth and death and rebirth,
Goddess of the green Earth that feeds us,
Of the creatures that roam upon it, and the tides that lap its shores,
Lady of the Cauldron, let all your children drink of its wisdom
And know that all names of the Divine are but one Name,
And all worship but a dance to the singular music of Life.
So Mote It Be!

So you want us to pray for god to make us better people which, in turn, will make god happy? That makes no sense!
