I'm trying to come up with ideas for canvas paintings. I'm like out of ideas. I've already painted 20+ for the house. I need more for the kitchen and living room. Need ideas on what to paint or how to get ideas

if you want abstract....this one is easy quick and fun. take canvas that is not stretched on a frame...you can buy it at the hobby stores or art supply stores. get different colors of spray paint. of course do in a well ventilated area.... crumble up the canvas and spray your color. then undo it and let it dry....(wont take very long if the paint is not thick) then crumble it up again...and spray a different color....keep doing this until you get the look you want. you can accent any areas with brush and paint to make certain things stand out. then stretch it... the one I did i then put a coat of clear varnish on it to give it a different look

Depends alot on your style if you are into realism/traditional or more modern or 'abstracty'.
For the kitchen...
Still life of fruit and veggies are nice or antique kitchen utensils or if you aren't for still life... what about people gathering for a feast or food prep... like a baker, baking?
Or do some calm canvases with just soothing colours either abstracted or non objective. Might be nicer where you eat to promote better digestion.
Clouds (white and fluffy) are often gorgeous on a large canvas..
This goes for the living room too. Calm and serene clouds above a calm landscape.
Beaches or objects from beaches... Trees or branches something you like from nature.
Or... if you want create a conversation piece... which has many things going on in it that will make people want to know what's going on in it like maybe a group of people doing an activity...collect magazine pictures and arrange them in an interesting way to help you with some ideas.

Depends what you want to achieve in your house... calming feelings or active and vibrant.

Not sure if I helped you but I helped myself LOL! Thanks!

HERE'S technique that's easy and can work for anyone....blow up cross sections of fruit and other still life items...then outline them with dioxozine purple while the purple is wet you go in with pure bright colors, cadmium yellow, cob alt blue, titanium white, cadmium orange and yellow...teal, other variations of your colors....work with acrylic on a large canvas,,,,,it must be fast wet on with use a palette knife to explore and ad color to areas...don't be afraid to put unusual colors on top of each other.....I DO SOME WORK THIS WAY AND IT SALES LIKE Candy FOR ME......IT'S ALSO MY Easiest method to teach people.
