Scrying is the use of magic or psychic abilities to view things that are otherwise hidden to a person, usually using a reflective surface or some form of sphere. These spheres may be made of crystal or glass (the ever-famous crystal ball), whereas some scrying uses mirrors, bowls of water, or bowls of ink.

Skrying and astral projection in the Golden Dawn tradition can be described as a form of self-hypnosis that uses symbols in order to cause changes in consciousness.

Scrying is what "witches" or people who want to do magic use to find people. You need a crystal, map, string, and something that belongs to that person. Then you tie the crystal to the string hold the item and hold the crystal above the middle of the map. Then it's supposed to go where the person is located on its own. When it stop it will land on the place on the map. You can use any kind of map. So ya good luck with whatever you're going to do!

It's scrying and it's when you gaze into something like a pool of water or a crystal ball or a mirror, or even a fire and look for symbols to interpret about the past present or future of a questioner.

Using a black mirror for divination, quite simply put. Don't even bother with it if you don't have access to a room that will allow you complete darkness. I have a scrying mirror, but also a very bright streetlight outside my apartment window (I live in studio and have a room-long window), and scrying when any light finds its way into the room is extremely difficult.

Scrying is a form of divination where you look into something, a special kind of "plate" or tea leaves or a bowl of liquid, to try to read someone's future or fortune, etc.

The only difference between godbot religion, scrying, astrology and haruspicy is what they look at: anything but the facts.
