I scheduled a consultation appt with this guy (http://www.cyruschessmd.com/) to have some moles on my face removed and they said it would be a $175 charge. Is that too much? seemed awfully high to me. Any other good laser surgeons in the area?

For him? No. He's got to pay for that fancy laser. When it comes to "specialists" you pretty much have to bite the bullet. It's probably going to cost the same across the board anywhere you go.

Yes! You should rarely, if ever, have to pay for a consultation and if so, no more than $25.
Your best bet for referrals is to ask your primary physician or a dermatologist. Many dermatologists can perform laser mole removal right in their offices. You don't need to pay the expense of a surgeon for what is a very simple procedure.
