I am currently trying to get back in shape and have taken everyone's advice to drink more water. If all the diet "gurus" say that drinking 8 glasses of water a day will help you to lose weight, why do I feel heavier than ever??? I've been eating healthy, drinking a lot of water and exercising every day. Yet I feel like my jeans are actually getting tighter by the day. Can anyone advise a way to avoid feeling like a beach ball but still consume the healthy amount of water every day?

I'm having the same thing right now too! Go health kicks! I've been drinking 8 glasses a day for almost two weeks now and I'm starting to feel it less now, so I think it was just a bit of a shock on my body. Work up to 8 glasses, you don't have to drink them all right away!

Water plays a very important role when it comes to losing weight, but just drinking water will not help you necessarily.

First, have a check up of water retention. Not everybody eliminates water correctly, and this is due to various factors, the first ones being your kidneys. Then, have a sodium check up. If your sodium levels are high, it's a natural thing to retain more water because your body just feels the need to "drink".

How about this diet?

I know myself that drinking water is not that pleasant, but if you know how to trick your body, you'll turn water drinking into something pleasant.

I have a 64 once water jug I carry around ALL day and drink the whole thing. I have never felt bloated (I just pee 100000000 times a day!), but it has helped supress my appetite, and it flushes toxins out of your system.
