I've been on 30mgs for almost a year and don't know if i feel any better. Does my dose need increasing. I've tried most other anti-depressants but am unable to tolerate them due to nausea and sickness.

My doc gave me 45 mg dose every night, I have stopped without her say so because I was in limbo like you. I felt nothing , neither happy or sad . I couldn't live my life without having a laugh and a beer so after a year or more i came off them by myself . I am having a really hard time balancing my mood but at least I know its MY mood and not a false medicated mood so from here on in I'm going turkey , if I'm going to suffer from Agitated depression then Its without any help from drugs. I think now i have my true mood going and i can think straight, i can lick it, if i fall on my **** then at least i gave it a shot.

The person above is absolutely correct in stating no drug causes Bi-Polar. Bi-polar is a problem with the brain- the potential for it to develop existed since birth.

If you are experiencing side effects- consult your psychiatrist or general practitioner. They will have the latest meds- although your condition may only respond to certain kinds. In that case- your doctor can prescribe anti-nausea meds.

Remember too, that SSRI and other anti-depressants take several months to work.
Please see your doctor.

Actually, recent evidence is showing that while it's unlikely that drugs *cause* Bipolar Disorder some antidepressants might make it worse. Have a look at this website and see if any of it applies to you.

No medication causes bipolar disease. None at all. You may need to have your dose adjusted or a different medication. There are new antidepressants coming out all the time.

The medication/poison can cause all manner of illness. Get off of them right away. Psychiatry is a business.
