If Satan is evil, and evil people are sent to hell, won't he praise them rather than punish them?

Satan is punished along with those who are evil.

As it is written: "...and the devil who deceived them was thrown into the lake of fire and sulfur, where the beast and the false prophet were. They will be tortured day and night forever and ever." (Revelation 20:10)

Cf. "Anyone whose name was not found written in the Book of Life was thrown into the lake of fire." (Revelation 20:15)

I am not Christian, but the Catholic doctrine (the one which tells us the most about hell) teaches that Hell is the place in which sinners are punished - the lake of fire. Satan is himself being punished there; he isn't some sort of ruler. According to Dante, Satan is chained up in the deepest circle of hell, and Judas is punished by being held inside his burning mouth.

Like I say, I don't believe in any of this, but supposedly it's a lack of God which causes the punishment, rather than actually being poked by mini-devils. Some theologians argue that heaven and hell are actually the same place, but that those who hated God on earth hate him in the afterlife (so it's hell for them), whilst people who loved him love it.

First of all you say 'if' satan is evil which implies that you might think he is not.

Evil people are not sent to hell. Hell is translated from the hebrew and greek words meaning gravedom which means death.

And the devil will not praise anyone. He hates with a hatred that is beyond reason. He is a tyrant and destroys even his own. He rules with a rod of iron and will kill, steal nad destroy anyone and anything he can. He is beyond reason and beyond redemption. he has no goodness in him at all. He is pure darkness.

The devil only exists to the degree that you believe in him and his hospitality is relative to your expectations so take care! In other words, the more you seek, the more you get.

We have freedom of choice; it’s a bit like taking on a job selling an unpopular product. The boss is delighted to have a willing salesperson. The customers are contemptuous and rude. Upon return to base the boss is irritated but seeks good reason to retain your services and you find yourself in bondage… and in hell.

If people seek to belong to a particular community and within that community they excel as active members, then the chances are that they would be well received and ‘praised’.

Satan, of course, is delighted to have followers that apply themselves to his objectives. It follows then, that he would send his disciples out to satisfy his function.

If it is agreed that Satan is evil then one can only ask why anyone should want to associate with Satan. If Satan offers a complete contradiction to the customary way of life for most people then a union with Satan can only attract a life of mayhem.

It is not that Satan punishes them; it is that the disciples of Satan attract a lifestyle that denies harmony and freedom from anguish.

Think?
satan is not evil(he has the power to commit evil)
Moses prayed to GOD in the desert "Lord take this evil, from us"
intimateing that GOD was angry with Israel.(and GOD was visiting evil upon Israel for not obeying HIM)
The word evil has been obscured through the ages.
Therefore because satan hates GOD,he uses the power of evil(punishment)to it's utmost to destroy all that GOD,has made.

Well Dicky the thing is it's all a corporate decision, hell has had to downsize; it's just how it is now; we've outsourced it to Indian. Frankly they do it a lot cheaper and there isn't the same sort of union trouble or holidays for every bloody thing that comes along. You see we had to let old"Nick " go. Don't worry though, He's got a nice little pension and a cottage in Coventry by His Mums; snug little pub up the lane; very nice! No praising Satan in Hell now, that's all over, better return on the investment too. I hope this clears all of it up for You. Ta rah for now!

You won't recieve any praise, he will only mock you fro being proud and stupid enough to fall for his tricks. He is the king of pride.
Isaiah chapter 14 shows those that have died mocking him though after he is sent to the pit.

It's God or/and His angels, i.e. Guardians of Hell who will do the punishment, not Satan

God knows best

Peace and Love

no because God will be punishing them for eternity. Satan rules the world not hell, but He still has to answer to God.

absolutely not. He hates you. Satan just happens to be more powerful in hell. Like a bully on a playground. Besides, he's the least of your worries. You are totally cut off from God.
