When you can handle the emotions and can fully trust the person you are with. When you can handle the consequences of an unplanned pregnancy or abortion. When you are ready to take responsibility for protection from sexually transmitted diseases. All of which can happen the very first time.
There are more religions than Christianity that encourage abstinence before marriage.

You should only marry somebody if they are a "special someone", and if you mean caught in a room forever, then, it'll happen without a doubt anyway so just don't worry.

If you are a christian it says that you are to wait to you are married but if you are an atheist you should wait till you find and very special someone and be with him for more than a year before you do!!!!
