Logicians: What is the problem with this concept by Richard Dawkins?

Antony Flew (athieist, at the time) wrote a book on logical thinking. He used the example of Richard Dawkins' concept of "the selfish gene" as a logical fallacy. What is the logical fallacy?

He probably didn't understand what Dawkins meant. Many people critique the book sound as if they're only aware of it by its title.

Richard Dawkins was not implying genes had any kind of emotion or sentience. Maybe you should read the book?
