That's a brilliant question. I would say that the standard Christian argument is that God has left us to our free will, yet that doesn't quite explain earthquakes and tsunamis. We are told to pray to God for help - I'm sure plenty of devout Christians have done that before being swamped in a cascade of volcano lava.
When a person is ill, prays and then is cured, they will often think that God saved them, rather than a team of skilled surgeons. However, if they die, their relatives put it down to the old reliable 'It was God's will'.

Hmm i'll need some examples. Pretty sure He took credit for the flood.God gets credit for the good things because He is a good God. He also gets credit for the some of the bad things because it is for His will. Ex: Jesus dieing on the cross. Bad thing in that someone died, good thing that now we can be saved.
Ex: Job, bad thing that he was practically killed (by Satan, check the book) but good thing that he got it back double (by God :D).

Why does God get all the discredit for the bad things, and none of the credit for the good things?

hmm strange, it seems as if its the other way around. People will blame Jehovah for natural disasters, unheard prayers, the conditions of the world, allowing people to endure pain, etc. He's rarely rewarded for allowing us to live with Free Will. And not only that, The Almighty doesnt do bad things...Its the influence of satan that breathes over us moronic humans with blinding addictions to distract us from the truth of god's true will for humankind.

That is one of the most insidious things about religion. It devalues us as human beings. We have God to thank for the good things, and ourselves (or Satan, if that's more convenient) for the bad. This stacks the deck against us, and it is completely illogical. This is the way that Christians are taught to think, and this is why they often fail to give credit where credit is due. If my husband survives an operation, I thank the doctor, not God. If he dies, I blame the doctor, not God. It keeps things simpler when you deal with human beings and not a deity that may or may not exist.

If you want someone to blame for the bad things look in the mirror. The curses came about in response to OUR sin.

If you read the old testament , God practiced quick judgment and many bad things happened to the disobedient and unbelieving.

God is responsible for good and bad. He is responsible for everything. Some people attribute bad things to Satan - but many do not know - do not care to know - the Jewish opinion of Satan. That he is not evil that he is part of God. See? God is responsible for everything. Most people forget that.

Because the Christian religion made a handy dandy scapegoat in Satan. Yep anything goes wrong it's the other guy's fault. Yep ol' God sure knows how to pass the buck.
