I was sick with what i think was the flu for about 3 weeks. After 2 weeks i went to the dr., got some antiiotics, and started feeling better over the next week. Ive been feeling better for about a week and now i think im getting sick again. I feel drained, sick to my stomach, feel like ive got a fever and still have the congestion in my chest. Feels like the same thing all over again!!!

My fiance is going through the worst part of it right now....he's been sick for about a week. Can i catch it again after being off antibiotics for about a week??

Yes, you can get sick again and your body can develop resistance to antibiotics unless you give it something else to fight the illness and try to limit your exposure to infected persons. I suggest you stop taking antibiotics.. long usage may cause the distruction of your intestinal flora and you could develop fungus (this is the worst scenario whatsoever) and increase your liquid, vitamin and nutricious intake. This usually works for me.. I stopped taking antibiotics for a long time. If you help your body create immunity by feeding it what it needs, then disease will vanish eventually :)
Take care and good luck !

My first question is why were you on antibiotics? The flu is a viral illness, not bacterial. Antibiotics only work for bacterial infections.

But to answer your question, yes, you can still become sick again if exposed to the illness by another. You are more vulnerable at the end of an illness since your body has not totally recovered. Whatever the reason for the antibiotics, you need to take them until gone.

Yes it's possible. If the reason behind is bacterial you can get it again as soon as you have finished your penicillin, or the penicillin isn't strong enough and it just dampens the symptoms until you are out of penicillin and then it starts again. If you've had a virus you can catch the next (similar) virus and start all over again with that. (Once you have had one virus you are immune towards it for a while, but viruses mutate often and you can catch new forms of the old virus.)

You should have your doctor check if you need more penicillin.

it truly is achieveable to get a persistent throat an infection with streptococcal micro organism. in case you keep getting sore throats, then you definitely could see a healthcare professional about it. there is antibiotic medical look after it. yet a pounding headache is a non-particular symptom that has many achieveable causes. you may've basically exercised too a lot and too abruptly. It takes a lengthy time period to get right into a good structure. in case you do it abruptly and too a lot, then it would want to reason well being issues.

You know, normally I'd say no, because after you're ill, you develop antibodies against that illness ... but whatever is going around is very nasty, and may just be able to strike twice. I'm so sorry! Try chicken noodle soup and vitamin c. I hope you feel better soon!

Yes you can get sick again you can get it from your boy friend then he can get it from you and on and on you go. But you both need to get to the Dr's if you can at the same time to be treated at the same time.
