fitting furniture into a room 9x12

I have experience with this. My master bedroom is 9x12 and my fiance has a cal-king bed. Believe it or not it fits to one side of the room, their is not walking room on both sides but it fits nicely. Also some people angle the bed in the corners but I think it takes up more room doing this. I would suggest putting your dresser in the closet if it is a bedroom. I put my dresser in the middle of the closet and my clothes on each side. Instead of using side tables next to the bed you could use sconces mounted on the wall beside the bed, like you see at some nice hotels.

If it is living room have a focal point like a fireplace or a guess in this day in age a television. Make sure you have it arranged for conversation. Don't put a chair in the corner by itself. Put two together with a small table between.

try this website:

You can set the dimensions of the room and then you can play around with the set-up. it allows you to place the windows, doors, and all furniture in the room to get a feel of what it would look like. You can also select paint colors and everything. A great tool to design your room before spending hours moving stuff around.

good luck hope this helps it worked for me.

need a bit more info!

but if you're decent in math, measure everything and get a 9X12 inch piece of paper and make small squares of paper that correspond with the pieces you want to arrange. It should save your back a bit :o)
