Go to the store and look at both. Better is the one that looks better to you.
Unless of course you plan on playing video games on it - then I would recommend LCD.

That depends if you are going to watch the TV at night or at day light conditions. Plasma TVs show more light so they are ideal for a dark environment, but LCD are better at day because they have a non reflecting screen and you will not see annoying reflection on the screen while watching it.

this varys from person to person . from my experience the plasmas are better. although they have high gloss screen and reflect some glare. the picture quality and color are far superior than lcds. and the lcds look good on hd but look like crap on just about everything else.but the plasmas consume more energy and get warmer. its a toss up but i think for picture quality and detail plasmas are better. but it also depends on brand.
